MEPX market member circle is expanding – Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske registered

MH Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske Matično preduzeće AD Trebinje (ERS), a company headquartered in Trebinje, has successfully completed the registration process on Montenegrin power exchange market and thus became twenty-second MEPX markets member, and fifteenth outside of Montenegro.

Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS) was founded as a public entity in June 1992, and was reorganized as Mixed Holding Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske stock company Trebinje in 2005. MH Elektroprivreda RS, one of 3 big power enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is composed of 11 subsidiaries and a parent company controlling and evaluating business processes of all subsidiaries. Those 11 subsidiaries include 5 power generation companies, 5 power distribution companies and a research and development centre (IRCE), engaged in research, examination and development of power equipment. Activities of MH ERS include power generation and exploitation of raw materials for power generation, power distribution and trading, power system management and project implementation and management. Total installed capacity of ERS, consisting of hydro and thermal power plants, is 1348 MW, while average annual power generation is around 5000 GWh. MH ERS exports about 25% of their total annual generated electricity to neighbouring countries, and they strive to secure system stability and development through integration into European power system. Main goals of this company are to maintain leading power trade and supply position in RS and to increase their involvement on regional power market, through optimal utilisation of energy resources and reliable system operation, along with construction of new power facilities.
